Author Tips

Here are some ideas that can help you save both time and money in creating your book.

  • Unless you are a skilled designer that can create a finished, press-ready product. Do not spend time formating your manuscript. It is best to leave it in Word as a basic document. If you have specific instructions for indentions, fonts, sizes, scripts or other design elements, it is best to direct us to do so in the typesetting design phase.
  • See your project as an investment not a lottery ticket- there is a chance you will gain great fame and wealth from your writings, albeit slim, the majority of authors are blessed with more intrinsic rewards: such as securing a family legacy, recording life events and memories for generations to come, capturing important images in a format that will be kept for posterity, or spreading ideas to those in one's sphere of influence.
  • Use us as your team! From the first time you contact us, we are on your side, ready to consult, advise and talk you through the decisions regarding your project. Our doors are open and we pride ourselves in being available for face-to-face meetings at your convenience. We will even come to you.
  • Be judicious with whom you share your manuscript with. Opinions will vary greatly and family and friends tend to be kind and not necessarily straightforward. We on the other hand, want every book published by Eveready Press to be on a commercial level, whether or not it will be sold, and are glad to give our assessment.
